Using leveraged negotiations and streamlined distribution processes, Software Resource & Services (SRS) strives to provide The University System of Georgia (USG) with software products & services at the best value: the least expensive price, the fastest delivery system, and the best customer service possible. SRS aspires to be the preferred point of contact for USG for all your software product & service needs.


History 

Software Resource & Services (SRS) was originally established in 1987 at the University of Georgia as Microcomputer Software Distribution, later renamed, Managed Software Distribution (MSD). Although located on UGA's Athens campus, MSD served all 35 University System of Georgia institutions. MSD helped lower USG's technology costs by providing its institutions with substantial savings on academic, research, and administrative software licensing from major software publishers. In 2007, MSD established an online personal store and began extending these discounts to faculty, staff, and students with the launch of eMSD, a business-based ecommerce website. After a strategic reorganization in 2008, MSD's staff and resources joined the Athens office of the Board of Regents, where the group became known as SRS. SRS is now an integral part of Information Technology Services at the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia.
